Get the Filevolo app

Install Filevolo on your phone, tablet or computer. It takes a few seconds, uses almost no space, and your files still never leave your device.

Look for the install icon at the right end of the address bar, or open the browser menu and choose Install Filevolo (Chrome) or Apps, then Install this site as an app (Edge).

What you get

Its own icon and window. Start Filevolo from your desktop, taskbar, dock or home screen like any other app, without hunting for the tab.
Open with Filevolo. On a computer with Chrome or Edge, right-click a PDF or image and open it with Filevolo, then pick what to do with it.
Share to Filevolo. On Android, share a PDF or photo from any app and choose Filevolo to compress, convert or edit it.
Quick shortcuts. Press and hold the icon to jump straight to Compress PDF, Merge PDF, PDF to Word, Edit PDF or Compress Image.
Tools you have used keep working offline. Once a tool has loaded on your device, it opens again without a connection.

How to install it

Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook (Chrome or Edge): Press the Install Filevolo button above, or use the install icon at the end of the address bar.
Android (Chrome): Press the Install Filevolo button above, or open the browser menu and choose Install app.
iPhone and iPad (Safari): Tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. Open and share-to are not available on iOS.
Mac (Safari): In the File menu, choose Add to Dock.

Questions

Is it a different program from the website?

No. It is the same Filevolo, installed so it opens in its own window with its own icon. It updates itself, so you always have the current tools.

Is there a Microsoft Store, App Store or Google Play version?

Not yet. The install above comes straight from your browser, with no store and no account.

Does the app have access to my files?

Only the ones you give it. As in the browser, a file you choose is processed on your device and is not uploaded. When you open or share a file with the app, it is held briefly in the browser's own storage so the tool can pick it up, then removed.

Does it work offline?

The tools you have already opened on this device do, since the tools themselves run in your browser. Anything that needs the server, such as checking Pro status or Secure Send, needs a connection.

How do I remove it?

Like any other app: uninstall it from your system, or from the app's own menu in the title bar on a computer, or by long-pressing its icon on a phone.
