  • Fix

Clearer PDF/A results and sourced comparison guidance

PDF/A preparation no longer labels an unvalidated result as a ready archival file. The structural checker reports its four checks separately from full validation. The archiving guide now includes a reproducible sample workflow, and the PDF-tool comparison links to provider sources instead of asserting fixed competitor prices and quotas. Updated October 16, 2026.

  • New

    Continue with Google

You can now log in or create an account with Google instead of an email and password. Filevolo asks Google for one thing only, your email address, once Google has confirmed it is yours. Your Pro status, credits and signature packs follow that email. The usual email and password login still works.

  • New

Pay once: signature packs and Pro Lifetime

Sign & Send can now be paid for by the document, with no subscription and no account: 1 document for $1.99 or 5 for $6.99, credits never expire. Pro still includes unlimited Sign & Send. And for anyone who would rather not subscribe, Pro Lifetime is one payment of $149 for everything in Pro, limited to the first 500 buyers. Both are on the Pricing page.

  • New

    Filevolo for AI assistants

A small program that gives Claude, or any assistant that speaks the Model Context Protocol, eleven PDF tools: read the text, key sentences, merge, extract or delete pages, split, rotate, crop, clear metadata, and convert to Word. It runs on your own computer, so your files are never uploaded, and it never overwrites a file. Download it and set it up from the AI assistants page.

  • New

    Translate PDF, on your device

Translate a PDF into another language and get an editable Word file (headings, lists and tables kept) and a plain text version. The translation is made by the models built into Chrome on a computer, so the document is never sent anywhere; in other browsers the page says it cannot do it rather than using an online service. The first use of a language pair downloads that pack once, and long documents can be stopped part-way. A scan needs OCR PDF first.

  • New

    PDF to PowerPoint

Turn a PDF into a .pptx with one slide per page. The slides are shaped like your pages, so nothing is cropped or stretched, and each page's text is put in the speaker notes. The slides are pictures of the pages, so they look exactly like the PDF but are not editable; for text you can edit, PDF to Word is the better choice. Everything happens in your browser.

  • New

    Install Filevolo as an app

Filevolo can now be installed on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone straight from the browser, with its own icon and window. On a computer with Chrome or Edge, a PDF or image can be opened with Filevolo from the right-click menu; on Android, a file can be shared to it from any app. Either way, you then pick the tool, and the file stays on your device. Press and hold the icon for shortcuts to the most used tools. Find the install button and instructions on the Get the app page.

  • New

    Read PDF Aloud

Open a PDF and listen to it. It is read paragraph by paragraph with your device's own voices, with the current paragraph highlighted, pause, skip, a speed control, and a click on any paragraph to start from there. The document is not uploaded. Voices marked online are run by your browser's vendor, so pick one without that mark for private files. It cannot save the audio as a file, and a scan needs OCR PDF first.

  • New

    Summarize PDF, without uploading it

Get the main points of a long PDF. In Chrome on a desktop computer, the AI model built into the browser writes the summary on your device (English documents). Everywhere else, and for any language, it picks the most representative sentences from the document itself, word for word. Either way the PDF is never sent to a server. A scan needs OCR PDF first.

  • New

    Crop PDF

Drag a frame over a page to keep only that part, and apply the same crop to every page or set a different one for each. It works on pages stored sideways too. The area outside the frame is hidden rather than deleted, so use Redact PDF to remove something for good. Everything happens in your browser.

  • New

WebP to PNG, AVIF to JPG and PNG to PDF

Three more converters for files people actually end up with. WebP to PNG keeps transparent backgrounds, AVIF to JPG turns the newer phone and website format into one every program opens, and PNG to PDF puts screenshots and graphics into a PDF, one per page, without resizing them. All three run in your browser.

  • New

    Edit PDF

Type text anywhere on a PDF page, cover a mistake with a white box, highlight a line and drop in a picture or logo, then download the result. Text can be any size and color, bold or regular, and works with Hungarian, other Central European, Cyrillic and Greek letters (the font is saved inside the PDF so it looks the same everywhere). A white box only hides what is under it, so use Redact PDF to remove something for good. Pages stored sideways need Rotate PDF first. Everything happens in your browser.

  • New

    PDF to Word

Turn a PDF with selectable text into an editable .docx. Headings, paragraphs, bullet and numbered lists, simple tables (including one that continues across pages), bold, italic and centered text are rebuilt, two-column pages are read one column after the other, and repeating headers, footers and page numbers are dropped. Pictures and exact fonts are not carried over, and a scan needs OCR PDF first. Everything happens in your browser.

  • New

Background Remover now works on products

Choose "A product or object" and click the item you want to keep. A small on-device AI model (about 6 MB) cuts it out, and you can click a missing part to add it, switch to Remove and click anything extra, or step back with Undo. Editing the selection is free; only saving the PNG uses one of your daily tasks. Photos of people still work automatically, as before.

  • Fix

Word to PDF keeps pictures and merged tables

Pictures in a Word document were being left out of the PDF, tables with merged cells made the conversion fail, and the paragraphs inside a table cell ran together. All three now convert correctly, and Word page breaks, the Title style, centered, right-aligned and justified text, and font sizes carry over. If a picture is in a format a PDF can't hold, the tool now tells you how many were left out. HTML to PDF got the same fixes, plus text inside plain div blocks and tidier handling of indented source.

  • Fix

CSV and Excel files convert the way you see them

CSV to PDF now detects semicolon- and tab-separated files (the usual export from a spreadsheet set to a European language) and reads older Windows-encoded files without turning accented letters into black diamonds. Excel to PDF shows numbers, percentages and dates as the spreadsheet displays them, such as $1,234.50 or 25%, instead of the raw stored value. Number columns are right-aligned and wide tables stay inside the page.

  • New

Tools you have opened keep working offline

Once a tool has loaded on your device, it opens again without a connection, and your files never needed one anyway. A page you have not opened before shows an offline notice instead. Excel to PDF and anything that talks to the server (Pro status, Secure Send, checkout) still need a connection.

  • Fix

Invoice lines fit on a phone

On a narrow screen the line items in the Invoice Generator were squeezed until the description field was almost gone and the amount and remove button ran off the edge. Each line is now a small card with labelled fields. The Resume Builder's certification row got the same treatment.

  • Fix

Better for screen readers and keyboards

The upload box no longer has a hidden second control that a keyboard or screen reader would stop on, the form fields that had only a placeholder now have proper labels, and the small "paste a file" hint under every upload box is darker so it is easier to read.

  • New

Compress to a specific file size

Type a size in MB (an email limit, an upload cap) into Compress PDF or Compress Image and it keeps the best quality that still fits. If it has to shrink image dimensions to get there it says so, and if the size can't be reached it tells you instead of handing back a file that misses.

  • New

Try any tool with a sample file

Over 40 tools now have a "Try it with a sample file" link under the upload box, so you can see what a tool does before you hand it a real document. The samples are clearly made-up files, never real people or businesses.

  • New

Send a result straight to the next tool

After a PDF or image finishes, suggested next steps appear (for example Merge PDF to Compress PDF, or Resize Image to Compress Image). The file passes between pages inside your browser, with no download and re-upload in between.

  • New

    Search right on the homepage

A visible search box with live results and quick category shortcuts, in addition to the Ctrl+K shortcut.

  • New

    Stop a long scan partway

OCR PDF and PDF to Text now have a Cancel button. Pages already read before you stop are kept, not thrown away.

  • New

    16 new how-to guides

Every tool is now covered by at least one guide, including password-protecting a PDF, making a scan searchable, converting Word, Excel, CSV and HTML to PDF, and creating a QR code.

  • Fix

    PDF Scanner's camera works again

A security setting on the site was blocking the live camera in PDF Scanner. Fixed, so you can capture a page directly instead of only uploading a photo.

  • Fix

One bad image no longer ruins a batch

On the image converters, a single corrupt file in a Pro batch used to throw away every other result. Now the good ones are kept and the failed file is named.

  • Fix

Compress PDF skips grayscale and CMYK images

Re-saving those as ordinary color JPEGs could make some PDF viewers misread them, so Compress PDF now only recompresses regular color images and leaves the rest exactly as they were.
