Using Filevolo

Filevolo provides file and PDF tools. Most process files entirely in your browser; a tool's page tells you plainly if it works differently. You do not need an account to use the free tools. By using Filevolo, you agree to these terms. Filevolo is operated by an individual entrepreneur established in Hungary.

Who can use Filevolo

You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age at which you can legally consent to use an online service in your country if that is older, to use Filevolo. If you are buying Filevolo Pro or task credits, you also confirm you are legally able to enter into this agreement and to use the payment method you provide, or that a parent or guardian is doing so on your behalf.

Acceptable use

Use Filevolo for files you have the right to process. Do not use it to process illegal content, to attempt to disrupt or overload the service, or to circumvent the daily free-task limit or payment system through automated means. You also agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service, and not to use it or its output to build or train a competing product, without our written permission.

You may not use Filevolo if you are located in, or acting on behalf of, a country or person subject to a comprehensive U.S. or EU trade embargo, or listed on a government restricted-party list.

Your files, our software

You keep all rights to the files you process with Filevolo - we claim no ownership over your content, and for any tool that runs entirely in your browser, our servers never even receive a copy of it. In return, Filevolo, its name, logo, and the underlying software are our property, protected by copyright and other laws. Using the Service gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use it for your own personal or internal business purposes - not a license to resell it, white-label it, or offer it as your own product.

Filevolo Pro and task credits

Filevolo Pro is a recurring subscription, billed monthly or annually through Stripe depending on the plan you choose at checkout. It renews automatically for another period of the same length at the then-current price until you cancel; we do not send a reminder before a renewal charge. Task credits are a one-time purchase that never expires.

Cancellation: you can cancel a Pro subscription at any time, from the Pro management link on the pricing page or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep Pro access until then. There is no cancellation fee.

Refunds: a genuine billing error, a duplicate charge, or a technical failure that stopped you from getting what you paid for is refunded in full - contact [email protected] and we will sort it out. Simply changing your mind after using the paid benefit isn't covered by this, though EU/EEA/UK consumers have a separate statutory right described below. Outside of that right, refund requests are handled case by case, not as an automatic entitlement.

Price changes: if pricing changes, it will not apply retroactively to a period you have already paid for.

If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK: you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from an online purchase without giving a reason. Because Pro and task credits give you the paid benefit immediately, buying either means you are asking us to start right away and acknowledging that: once you have used any part of what you paid for, or once 14 days have passed, the right to withdraw no longer applies; and if you withdraw before using it, we may deduct a proportionate amount for any part of the period already used. To withdraw within that window, contact [email protected]. Nothing in these terms removes any other right you have under the mandatory consumer-protection law of the country you live in.

No warranty on results

Filevolo tools are provided as-is. While we test each tool with real files before shipping it, we cannot guarantee a specific output is perfect for every input - always check your result before relying on it, especially for anything important. Filevolo is not liable for how you use the files you create with it.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Filevolo is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits, or business, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $50 if you have not paid us anything. This limit does not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury we caused.

Indemnity

You agree to cover reasonable legal costs and damages Filevolo incurs because of your violation of these terms, your misuse of the Service, or content you process through it that infringes someone else's rights or breaks the law.

Availability and changes to the Service

Filevolo is provided on a best-effort basis with no uptime guarantee. We will try to give notice before planned downtime but cannot promise the service is always available. We may add, change, or discontinue individual tools or features at any time; if we discontinue something you rely on, we will try to give reasonable notice.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including outages of infrastructure or third-party providers we rely on (such as Stripe or Cloudflare), natural disasters, or similar events.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access, including a Pro subscription, if you materially breach these terms - for example, abuse, fraud, or attempting to circumvent the free-task limit or payment system. Where reasonably possible, we will give notice first. You can stop using Filevolo at any time. Sections that by their nature are meant to continue - including Limitation of liability, Indemnity, and Governing law - survive termination.

Copyright complaints

If you believe content processed or displayed through Filevolo infringes your copyright, contact us at [email protected] with a description of the work, the material you believe infringes it, and your contact details, and we will investigate.

Governing law and disputes

If a disagreement comes up, contact [email protected] first - most things are resolved faster that way than through a formal process. If it cannot be resolved that way, these terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the Hungarian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

If you are a consumer habitually resident in the European Union, EEA, or UK, this does not take away any protection given to you by the mandatory consumer-protection law of the country you live in, or your right to bring proceedings in the courts of that country instead.

General

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and Filevolo about the Service, and replace any earlier agreement on the same subject. Not enforcing a provision on one occasion does not waive it for the future. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to someone else without our consent; we may transfer ours, for example as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes; the date above reflects the latest version. Continuing to use Filevolo after a change means you accept the updated terms.
