A Real PDF, Not a Picture of One

Some browser-based Word-to-PDF tools work by rendering the page as an image and dropping that picture into a PDF - the result looks right but its text can't be selected, searched, or copied. Filevolo rebuilds the document's actual text, headings, lists, tables, and images as real PDF content instead, so the output behaves like an ordinary, genuine PDF.

What Carries Over, and What Might Not

Headings, paragraphs, bold/italic/underlined text, links, bulleted and numbered lists, tables (including merged cells), page breaks, and PNG or JPEG pictures all convert. Paragraph alignment (centered, right-aligned, justified) and the font size a paragraph is set in also carry over. What does not: text and background colors, typefaces, headers and footers, page numbers, text boxes, multi-column sections, and charts or graphics Word stores in other picture formats. The result is a clean, readable version of the document in one standard font, not a pixel copy of how Word shows it. For a resume, letter, report, or article, that rarely matters; for a designed flyer or brochure, it will.

Frequently asked questions

Yes - that's the whole point of building it this way. The PDF contains real text, not an image of the page, so you can select, copy, and search it normally.

Not yet - only the modern .docx format. If your file is a .doc, open and re-save it as .docx first (most word processors, including Word itself, can do this).

No. The text, headings, lists, tables, links, page breaks, and PNG or JPEG pictures come through, but the document is rebuilt in one standard font. Centered, right-aligned and justified text and paragraph font sizes do carry over, but colors, typefaces, headers and footers, text boxes, and multi-column layouts do not. If a picture can't be included, the tool says how many were left out.

No. Reading the .docx file and building the PDF both happen entirely in your browser.
