Frequently asked questions
For most everyday documents (a lease, an internal agreement, a form), yes - each signer's consent, the time they signed, and their IP address are recorded, which is what's generally understood as an "advanced" electronic signature under the EU's eIDAS regulation and the U.S. ESIGN Act. It does not verify anyone's government-issued identity - signing is authenticated only by holding the unique emailed link, the same trust level as clicking a link in any similar tool. For documents that legally require identity-verified, notarized, or qualified signatures, this isn't the right tool.
On Filevolo's server, for up to 30 days or until everyone has signed and you've downloaded the result - whichever you finish first. This is the one Filevolo tool that isn't fully browser-only, because more than one person needs to open the same file, sometimes on different days.
Filevolo emails each signer their unique link automatically as soon as you create the request. You can also copy any signer's link yourself from the status page - by chat, a different email, however you'd normally reach them - if you'd rather send it another way, or an email doesn't arrive.
You can download the completed PDF with every signature placed, plus an appended certificate page recording who signed, when, and from what IP address.
