What Is EXIF Data?
EXIF is metadata commonly stored inside camera and phone photos. Depending on the device and settings, it can include camera model, capture settings, timestamps, software information and GPS coordinates.
Remove Location Data From Photos
If location information is embedded in a picture, sharing the original file may reveal where the photo was taken. Removing supported metadata can reduce that risk - though a photo may still visibly contain faces, signs, addresses or other identifying information that metadata removal alone doesn't touch.
