PDF Metadata Remover

Remove hidden metadata (author, software, timestamps) from a PDF before you share it, processed in your browser.

Drag a PDF here, or choose a file

We'll show you what metadata it contains before removing anything.

You can also paste a file directly (Ctrl+V or ⌘V).

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your file is not uploaded to a server at any point.

What Is PDF Metadata?

Metadata can include details such as the document title, author, subject, keywords, software information and creation or modification dates. These fields may be useful internally, but you might not want them included when the file is shared publicly.

How to Remove PDF Metadata

Add the PDF, run the metadata removal tool and download the cleaned copy - the visible document content stays the same while supported metadata fields are stripped from the output.
